Local information

Gardening in Winchester

The Winchester constituency covers 13 wards of the City of Winchester district. It runs from the city out to New Alresford, Bishop's Waltham, the Worthys and the Meon Valley villages. Winchester City Council empties the brown garden bins, while Hampshire County Council runs the recycling centres. A 240 litre brown bin costs £73 for the year from March 2026. New sign-ups are paused until December, so autumn clearance often goes to the tip. Three Hampshire centres sit inside the constituency, at Bar End, New Alresford and Bishop's Waltham.1 2 3 4 5 6
